On May 9, 2023, the first part of the second symposium of the multi-year project East/West Border through film and history took place in the House of Film in Gorizia. In this edition, a wide range of lecturers and authors focused on the importance of newsreels and archival material in the presentation of history. The event concluded with a spectacular cine-concert by guitarist Boštjan Narat and clarinetist and saxophonist Didier Ortolan, who set live music to newsreels by Russian filmmaker Dziga Vertov.
